Skimboarding is similar to surfing, but riders use a smaller board without fins. By skimming in the shallow water, they use their momentum to glide out to waves that break close to shore. Once they catch the wave, the skill and creativity of the rider blend to execute moves that seem to defy the laws of physics.
I began this personal project originally to get outside and stay busy when The Pandemic first began in Spring of 2020. It did not take me long to realize that after 34 years as a professional photographer, I had forgotten what it felt like to shoot just for fun.
